Kevin Bacon is heading to the "Jungle" in his next starring vehicle. The movie is adapted from a memoir written by Yossi Ghinsberg who survived to tell the story of his terrorizing trip to the Amazon wilderness with two companions and a sketchy guide.
Bacon is attached to play the mysterious guide. "Wolf Creek" helmer Greg McLean, who worked with the actor in the upcoming horror thriller "6 Miranda Drive", will sit behind the lens. Justin Monjo is enlisted to write the screenplay based on Ghinsberg's book.
No other cast members are announced, but production is expected to begin early next year on location in Australia and Colombia. Ghinsberg's real-life adventure once became the subject of a one-hour Discovery Channel docu-drama series titled "I Shouldn't Be Alive".
