AceShowbiz - Daniel Radcliffe hopes to hit the road as a first-time driver by early November. He tells WENN, "I'm taking my driving test at the end of the month." Daniel insists that he will be a sensible first-timer and will not spend his money on a sportscar.
The "Horns" actor adds, "I'm not gonna be one of these people who when I do pass my test gets, like, a crazy fast elaborate car. A good piece of advice I was given was, 'When you're buying a car, buy a car you'll feel comfortable sitting in traffic in. If you're in a Ferrari in traffic, you're not gonna look cool!' "
Daniel shares a story about having to drive a car into a woman's driveway while fighting off a possible snake attack during the "Horns" filming. "I had to drive a Gremlin onto this woman's driveway and hit all her lawn ornaments," he recalls, "Hitting a mark in a car is a horrible thing, especially when you're not good at it. You know that all the other men on set drive, and they're all going, 'Can you just let me do this please, because he's screwing it up!' "
He continues, "Also, we had to have somebody in the back of the car who would put this snake around my neck before I got out, so they had to hide there with a python! Our snake handler had a wooden leg, so it was hard for him to get into the back of the car, so that job was delegated to someone else who is not normally in the snake handling department!"
"One of our set dec (decorating) guys got in the back and I just remember telling him, 'You know I don't drive - just so you know,' " the star of "The Woman in Black" adds, "And he's like, 'That's fine. I've never handled snakes before!' It was terrifying for both of us."
