The '19 Kids and Counting' star Jill and her husband Derick are due to welcome their first child in spring next year.

AceShowbiz - "19 Kids and Counting" star Jill Duggar reveals the gender of her baby after having an ultrasound on Saturday, October 18. The TLC reality star and her husband Derick Dillard are expecting a son in spring 2015. "I was really excited," Derick, 25, gushes to PEOPLE. "As a new dad, to have a firstborn son to be our first child and be the leader of his siblings, it is very special."

The couple was accompanied by Jill's siblings Joy, 16, James, 13 and Jenny, 7, for the doctor appointment. "Oh yes, there was some screaming in the room," the 23-year-old mom-to-be remembers. "I thought all along we were having a girl. Everyone made their guesses." She adds, "My mom and dad both thought it was going to be a boy and my grandma did, too. They are all really excited."

They are now prepping for the arrival of their baby boy, shopping for overalls, shirts, and pants as well as picking names for consideration. Jill whose siblings have all "J" names said, "We are not going to do a letter theme," before adding, "But we may do some kind of theme, like family names."

Jill married Derick on June 21 this year. They shared their first kiss on the wedding in front of a thousand guests. Their preparation for the big day was featured in an episode of the reality show. Both insisted they were not nervous about their first smooch.

Nevertheless, they got advice from the family. Jill's older brother Josh said, "Having been in that situation, I have to say that it's a pretty awesome thing. And to share it in front of your closest family and friends, even though it's thousands of them, is an awesome thing." His wife added, "Don't make your guests feel awkward at your wedding. Short and sweet, to the point. Don't miss."

The bride's mother Michelle weighed in on what the couple was most looking forward to after the nuptials, "I think just getting to be together all the time and not having to have chaperones anymore." Her father Bob chimed in with a smile, "I'm sure Jill's looking forward to the wedding and the ceremony and all that, and I'm sure Derick's looking forward to ... after the wedding."
