"Friends" is coming back to small screen, but not as a new series, on Netflix. All 10 seasons and 236 episodes of the popular NBC series will be instantly available on the online Internet-streaming service on January 1 next year.

In announcing the deal with Warner Bros. TV, Netflix posted a music video of the show's hit theme song "I'll Be There for You" performed by The Rembrandts at the friends' hang-out place, Central Perk. Gunther (James Michael Tyler) made an appearance behind the counter. Earlier last month, the cafe was installed as a pop-up in New York to commemorate the show's 20th anniversary.

"Friends" ran from 1994 to 2004 with the cast earning as high as $1 million per episode. It stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

The show's repeats are currently being shown on Comedy Central in the U.K. and had only been available previously in broadcast and cable television syndication in the United States.
