AceShowbiz - Ben Affleck may have found his next starring vehicle. According to Variety, he is in negotiations to headline action thriller "The Accountant" for Warner Bros. He is expected to play a mild-mannered accountant who moonlights as a lethal assassin.
Will Smith was attached to play the lead role when the project was first set up at Sony. After switching home at WB, Mel Gibson was initially tapped to serve behind the lens. Now the studio chooses Gavin O'Connor ("Warrior") as a director.
Affleck will next star as a murder suspect in David Fincher's "Gone Girl". He is also filming his role as the Caped Crusader in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and is expected to follow up his directorial duty in "Argo" by helming period crime drama "Live by Night".
