The New Zealand teen's new song is the first to be released from the soundtrack of the new movie scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on November 21.

AceShowbiz - Earlier this month, Lorde announced that she'd created a new song titled "Yellow Flicker Beat" for the soundtrack of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1". After previewing its lyrics in some Instagram posts, the singer revealed the track in full on Monday, September 29.

The mid-tempo pop/rock tune sounds like "Royals" or "Team" from Lorde's 2013 debut album "Pure Heroine". Over minimal synths and rattling drums, she sings, "I'm a princess cut from marble, smoother than a storm/ And the scars that mark my body/ They're silver and gold."

Lorde revealed in a Tumblr post that she worked on "Yellow Flicker Beat" between shows on her tour. "Every night, after I play, and say hi, and take pictures, and I walk up the stairs and we go on our way, I set up in this little bed office. I work from midnight until late on the soundtrack, singing into my computer, listening to demos and final mixes," she wrote.

" ['Yellow Flicker Beat' is] my first offering from what I hope will be a soundtrack you love. It's my attempt at getting inside her head, Katniss'. I hope you like it," she added.

In addition to providing an original song for "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1", Lorde is curating the highly-anticipated movie's soundtrack. Details about the record, including official tracklisting and release date, are still kept under tight wraps. Meanwhile, the movie starring Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth among others will open in U.S. theaters on November 21.
