For years, there hasn't any update from Martin Scorsese's "The Irishman", but that doesn't mean the project is dead. Al Pacino who is set to star in the movie has said in an interview with The Daily Beast that the film about real-life mob hitman Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran is still alive.
" 'The Irishman'. Wow. Oh yeah, Steve Zaillian script," he says when asked if he's still doing the movie. He confirms that Scorsese is still on board as director with Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci and Bobby Cannavale also among the cast.
The project will mark the first time the veteran actor and the acclaimed filmmaker work together, to which Pacino comments, "Isn't that something?"
"The Irishman" is based on Charles Brandt's book "I Heard You Paint Houses" about a reputed criminal who is believed responsible for over 25 murders, including that of John F. Kennedy and Jimmy Hoffa.
