Toronto Film Festival Dedicates One Day to Bill Murray
Movie

Bill Murray Day is the actor's works celebration, which is kicked off with public screenings of his three comedies.

AceShowbiz -

Toronto Film Festival organizers have declared September 5 as Bill Murray Day. The annual film festival will hold a public screening of three of the "charismatic, wise-cracking, comedic genius" actor's movies for free.

Since Murray's latest film "St. Vincent" was announced to have its world premiere at the festival, organizers mulled plans to turn the event into a celebration. According to Deadline, the actor was not able to be contacted at first because he did not have an agent or a cell phone. Nevertheless, someone was able to get through him and the plan moved on.

Murray's three comedies "Stripes", "Groundhog Day" and "Ghostbusters" will be presented at TIFF Bell Lightbox on September 5 beginning at 10 A.M. Tickets are available on the day starting 8 A.M. at the TIFF Bell Lightbox box office. Fifty fans who go to see all three free screenings will win a ticket to the world premiere screening of "St. Vincent".

In the directorial debut of Theodore Melfi, Murray stars as a retired curmudgeon with a penchant for alcohol and gambling who is forced to babysit a neighbor's 12-year-old son in order to earn money. An odd friendship soon blossoms between the improbable pair. Vincent helps Oliver grow to become a man, while Oliver begins to see in Vincent something that no one else is able to: a misunderstood man with a good heart.
