Hollywood stars glittered red carpet at the premiere of "The Giver" ahead of its August 15 release in the U.S. Taylor Swift, Katie Holmes, Meryl Streep, and Jeff Bridges supported the special screening on Monday evening, August 11 at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City.
Country/pop singer Swift was lovely in a sleeveless red and cream-colored dress by Monique Lhuillier. She finished off her glamour look with Casadei shoes and Brumani earrings. He co-star Holmes looked equally stunning as she opted for a Zac Posen dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry.
Streep took her daughter Louisa Gummer to the event, while Bridges who donned an Etro suit was accompanied by his wife Susan. Other celebrity guests at the special screening included cast members Odeya Rush, Cameron Monaghan, Brenton Thwaites, and Emma Tremblay.
Just as the red carpet was rolled out, heartbreaking news of Robin Williams' death made headlines. According to Ramin Setoodeh who tweeted live from the red carpet, Bridges paid tribute to the recently-deceased star, "It's difficult for me to be here, losing a dear friend Robin Williams. I know we'll all miss him."
