A "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" poster featuring Eva Green has been banned by the Motion Picture Association of America for its "nudity" content. Although not technically naked, Green's breasts and sexy curves are seen through her sheer dressing gown.
Green appeared in the poster as her character Ava Lord. "I've been especially bad," read the tagline. Per Deadline, the MPAA cited "curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through sheer gown" as grounds for rejection.
Dimension Films declined to comment on the ban but confirmed to Deadline that they were working on a compromise before the movie opens in theaters August 22. Despite the decision, the poster is still available for public view.
"Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" is a sequel to 2005 film "Sin City". In Green's segment, Josh Brolin's Dwight McCarthy struggles with his inner demons and tries to maintain control until his former lover Ava Lord returns, wanting his help to escape her abusive husband billionaire Damien Lord and his massive bodyguard Manute. However, a love struck Dwight soon learns that Ava's true intentions are far more sinister than they appear.
