The 'Good Morning America' anchor mentions her longtime girlfriend in a Facebook post where she reflects on the past year.

In a Facebook post, Robin Roberts (II) acknowledged for the first time that she has been in the same-sex relationship for a long time. The "Good Morning America" anchor thanked her girlfriend Amber Laign for standing by her side throughout her fight for breast cancer.
"I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together," she wrote. Roberts and Laign have been together for 10 years after meeting through mutual friends, an ABC spokeswoman confirmed to Variety. Laign is a licensed massage therapist who has a private practice specializing in patients recovering from injuries.
Roberts revealed her cancer diagnosis in 2007 and had undergone a surgery as well as chemotherapy. In 2012, she was diagnosed with rare blood disorder myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and underwent a bone marrow transplant. Her sister Sally Ann served as her donor, and Roberts thanked her in the Facebook post. "I am grateful for my sister, Sally-Ann, for being my donor and giving me the gift of life," she wrote.
According to MediaBistro.com, Roberts has been out to her family, friends and co-workers for years, but had never publicly revealed her sexual orientation.
