'Warcraft' Concept Art and Plot Details Revealed
Movie

Director Duncan Jones promise to bring a story that highlights the human and the orc races equally.

Director Duncan Jones gave some tidbits on the upcoming adaptation of Blizzard's video game "World of Warcraft". Talking to fans during a panel at BlizzCon 2013, the "Source Code" director showed concept art for the movie and shared more info on the plotline.

The film will deal with the first contact between humans and orcs, centering on Anduin Lothar and Durotan. Jones said they already had the cast picked out. "It's been hard to find an actor who looks like Durotan," he said of finding the right actor to bring the orc to life. "Every time I meet an actor I just try to squish his face."

The original script focused heavily on the human Alliance, which the director was not fond of because he wanted to tell a two-side story on both races. "It's about both sides. It's going to be red and blue," so the filmmaker explained.

Special effects supervisor Bill Westenhofer compared the tone of the film to that of "Gladiator" and said, "The swords that are being built are the biggest swords a human being can wield."

Travis Fimmel, Colin Farrell and Paula Patton are among the rumored cast. Production is expected to kick-start early next year for a December 18, 2015 release.
