American audience don't get to see Miley Cyrus' latest antic at the MTV Europe Music Awards. The network has opted to leave the smoking stunt by the former Disney star onstage of the awards-giving event for the U.S. broadcast.

The 20-year-old singer/actress lit up what looked like a joint when she accepted her Best Music Video award at the November 10 ceremony. In the edited version for the U.S. airing, she just thanked a few people when the scene switched to capture the audience and returned to her as she said goodbye.

Cyrus performed twice that night. Wearing a metallic dress and astronaut helmet, she kicked off the show with a rendition of her hit song "We Can't Stop". She later showed up in a very revealing white leotard to sing "Wrecking Ball".
