Three men named Zacharia Edwards, Mitch Moses and Vince McClean are suing the singer for allegedly stealing a song of the same title they wrote back in 2002.

Three men named Zacharia Edwards, Mitch Moses and Vince McClean are accusing Usher and his record label, Arista Records, of stealing a song called "Caught Up". The men claimed that they wrote the track in 2002 and later found out that it was illegally performed by Usher.
The three men filed their lawsuit in Manhattan federal court on Friday, November 8. The suit said that they initially performed the song about a man who's lost in love for a boss at Arista Records, the label Usher is signed to. The honcho played the tune for L.A. Reid, the then-CEO of the recording company.
Edwards, Moses and McClean said that they never heard back from Arista. Years later, they heard the song being sung by Usher. Not only does Usher's song and the men's song have the same title, but they also share similar "theme, melody, hook, lyrics and chorus of the musical compositions."
Representatives for Usher and Arista Records haven't commented on the matter, while a lawyer for the plaintiffs declined to comment.
Usher's "Caught Up" was featured in the singer's diamond-certified 2004 album, "Confessions". The hit track peaked at No. 8 on Billboard 100.
