The popstar gave the crowd at London's Roundhouse a treat with the first live rendition of the new song.

AceShowbiz - Katy Perry closed out the month-long 2013 iTunes Festival in London's The Roundhouse on Monday, September 30, and she made her set all the more special by debuting "By the Grace of God". The 28-year-old entertainer gave an emotional rendition as she performed the song that embodied the pain she went through during her divorce with husband Russell Brand.

"That song is evident of how tough it really was at a certain point. I asked myself, 'Do I want to endure? Should I continue living?' All the songs are real-life moments," revealed the "Roar" singer about the stirring ballad. Brand divorced Perry just as the year 2011 was about to come to a close, just as easily ending slightly more than a year of marriage in a text message.

But being raised by pastor parents in a Christian household would prove to be some firm foundation for the then troubled artist. She channeled her experience to co-writing "By the Grace of God" which attests to the fact that as far as her new music is concerned, she can "only write autobiographically" and that if her fans want to know "the real truth" about her life, they just need to listen in on her songs.

"By the Grace of God" is the latest preview of Perry's upcoming fourth studio album "Prism" after the Billboard chart-topping lead single "Roar", two recently-released promo singles "Dark Horse" featuring Juicy J and "Walking on Air". She is set to release the second official single "Unconditionally" next.
