The younger sister of Beyonce Knowles axes her upcoming appearances at some European music festivals because she wants to focus on her family and new album.

AceShowbiz - Solange Knowles announced that she canceled her upcoming European music festival performances. In a statement posted on Pukkelpop's website, the 27-year-old singer explained that the cancellation came after she decided to focus on her family and a new album.

"I am completely devastated to announce that I will be cancelling my international festival dates for the summer," she said in the statement. "I wish I could put in words how much of a difficult decision this was."

"Between moving part time to a new city, starting my son in a new school, and writing/ recording my new record, I really had to make the best decision for my mental/physical health and provide some stability for my family," she continued.

She then expressed her disappointment for not being able to meet her fans at the festivals, saying, "I am so so sooooo sorry if I've disappointed and really hope to make it out to those special cities soon enough!"

Solange's axed performances include Pukkelpop in Belgium, the Flow Festival in Helsinki, Finland, the Oya festival in Norway, Way Out West in Sweden and the Sudoeste in Portugal.

Solange is currently working on the follow-up to her 2012 EP, "True".
