Robert Downey Jr. May Play Both Gepetto and Pinocchio
Movie

Ben Stiller, Downey's co-star in 'Tropic Thunder', is not confirmed yet to serve behind the lens for the Warner Bros. project 'Pinocchio'.

Robert Downey Jr. might tackle two roles in "Pinocchio (2013)". According to a report from Bleeding Cool, the Oscar-nominated star of "Sherlock Holmes" will not only take on the role of woodcarver Gepetto, but also portray his creation Pinocchio.

Last May, Ben Stiller was reported to enter talks with Warner Bros. Pictures following Downey's statement during the "Iron Man 3" junket that he would like the "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" helmer to serve behind the lens for the project. However, no official confirmation coming from the studio has been issued ever since.

Besides starring in the pic based on the famous children novel by Italian author Carlo Collodi, Downey will serve as producer alongside his wife Susan and Dan Jinks. No start date has been set yet.

Downey has recently agreed to suit up as Iron Man once again for "The Avengers 2", which is slated to be released in May 2015 and will be directed by Joss Whedon. It is unknown whether there will be another stand-alone "Iron Man" film.

The actor now is busy filming "The Judge". In director David Dobkin's pic, the 48-year-old star plays a lawyer who returns to his hometown for his mother's funeral and discovers his father is a murder suspect.
