Sony Pictures has dropped a full trailer for its upcoming animation "The Smurfs 2". Not only the video teases an appearance from Neil Patrick Harris and Brendan Gleeson (who is later seen being transformed into a duck), but it also shows hilarious unlucky moments of evil wizard Gargamel, portrayed by "America's Sweethearts" actor Hank Azaria.

The animated feature sees Gargamel creating mischievous Smurf-like creatures called the Naughties that he hopes will let him harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence. When he discovers that Smurfette can give him what he wants, Gargamel kidnaps and brings her to Paris, where he's been winning the adoration of millions as the world's greatest sorcerer.

It's up to Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, and Vanity to return to our world, reunite with their human friends Patrick and Grace Winslow, and rescue her! Will Smurfette, who has always felt different from the other Smurfs, find a new connection with the Naughties Vexy and Hackus - or will the Smurfs convince her that their love for her is True Blue?

Christina Ricci voices Vexy, the "smart and mischievous" one as described by director Raja Gosnell. Meanwhile, J. B. Smoove is the voice actor of "very funny and very physical" Hackus.

Also supported by Sofia Vergara, "Smurfs 2" will open in the U.S. on July 31.
