Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has taken to Twitter to give fans a glimpse of him as Hercules. Without revealing how much the former WWE wrestler has changed for the heroic role he's landed in Brett Ratner's "Hercules: The Thracian Wars", the black-and-white pic only features him with long hair and tattoos on his left shoulder partially covered.

"3 hr daily process w/ multi-time Academy Award nominated hair & make up artists. Love the transformation..," Johnson tweeted along with the photo. Fellow actor and wrestler Dave Bautista had his say about the transformed look, "Can I borrow that wig when you're done homie?! Hair that used 2 be on my head decided it now wants to grow from my ears! #ImGreek"

The film is described as "a revisionist take on the classic myth set in a grounded world where the supernatural does not exist." The titular character will be featured as a mercenary who travels ancient Greece with five faithful companions. When called upon by the benevolent ruler of Thrace to defeat a savage and terrifying warlord, Hercules realizes that he must become a hero he once was.

Joining the cast for supporting roles are Rufus Sewell, Ian McShane, Aksel Hennie, Joseph Fiennes and John Hurt.

Paramount Pictures will unleash "The Thracian Wars" worldwide on July 25, 2014.
