AceShowbiz - Adult video star Mr. Marcus has been sentenced to jail for exposing syphilis to at least two co-stars last year after his tests turned out positive. The porn star pled no contest in Los Angeles Superior Court to exposing someone to a communicable disease. According to Los Angeles Deputy City Attorney Diego Edber, Mr. Marcus was originally charged with four counts total, including unlawful touching.
The 42-year-old Jesse Spencer, who works in the adult movie industry under the name Mr. Marcus, was sentenced to 30 days in jail, in addition to 36 months probation and 15 days of community labor. Los Angeles Daily News reported that Spencer had been put under custody since May 22 for a DUI arrest.
According to Edber, Spencer was tested positive for syphilis and received a Penicillin shot in July 2012. In a second screening on July 21, his test for sexually transmitted disease turned up positive again. Spencer participated in two x-rated movies on July 24 and July 26 although he was diagnosed with the disease. The porn star altered a photocopy of his medical test results and submitted the edited version to producer.
Two actresses and the producer, who later noticed that there was something weird about the document, made a report to the police. None of the two actresses contracted syphilis from Spencer. However, one of the women decided to take legal action against him.
Most porn movie producers stopped the production so that the stars could get tested in the beginning of August, after Spencer's case emerged. Requirement to wear condom to male porn star was pressed later in the same year.
