AceShowbiz - Jake Abel, 25, is betrothed to fashion blogger Allie Woods. The actor, who will next be seen portraying Ian O'Shea in a movie adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's best-selling sci-fi novel "The Host (2013)", popped the question in New York City. "We got engaged on New Year's," he spilled to Us Weekly.
In a separate interview with Nylon magazine, he detailed, "She turned around, and I was on my knee. It was amazing, man. Out of a million people, it was just the two of us. Three of my friends were taping the ball drop, and on 3-2-1, they all turned their cameras to us. Unfortunately, not one of them got the money shot!"
The "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" star then recalled how they first met, "We met when I was 17 and she was 19; I was a kid, and she was in a relationship, so we could not have cared less about each other. I just hung out at Mel's Diner (in Los Angeles) and drank coffee and learned to smoke cigarettes. I was too busy being cool."
Commenting on his growing fans, he said to Us Weekly, "So far, they've been really, really nice," adding he's lucky that his fiancee "is very supportive." "She's like, 'Wear that! It's more handsome. They'll like you more!' It's good. I got a good one," stated the star who once auditioned for Edward Cullen in "Twilight Saga".
In addition to having a wedding on the way, Jake and Allie are collaborating to release music together. A preview to their project has been posted on YouTube. "Why not go preview my and @alliewood's EP at https://bit.ly/14wl4SQ ? @The_Mumblers#BlackMagic Releases: 3.29.13," he hyped it up on Twitter.
