Various sources say the creator of 'The View' is poised to step down as the talk-show's co-host in May 2014.

Rumor has it, Barbara Walters' departure from "The View" is imminent. The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline learn that the ABC News veteran plans to leave the talk show that she created in May 2014.
Walters may announce her retirement in the coming weeks and stay through the next season of "The View". The show is expected to give a big send-off and present other related specials in the weeks leading to her exit that would celebrate her 52-year broadcast career.
It's unclear whether Walters will go for a full retirement or she will still make occasional TV appearances. Her alleged retirement plan comes on the heels of Joy Behar's announcement that she'll quit "The View" at the end of the current 16th season. Earlier March, when denying Elisabeth Hasselbeck's departure rumor, the 83-year-old journalist said, "Right now the only person who cannot leave this show is me."
However, back in 2011, Walters had sparked a retirement report as she said, "I'm retiring next year," during a break of an interview with President Barack Obama. Brushing off the report, ABC News claimed, "Barbara has joked that she is retiring every year since the Clinton administration."
