Chris Harrison's previous hint, that the former 'The Bachelorette' contestant would be the one finding love through the show this January, is confirmed.

Emily Maynard's former suitor, Sean Lowe, is officially going to be the new "The Bachelor". The 28-year-old insurance salesman based in Dallas got into the final three of "The Bachelorette" season 8 before he was sent home by Maynard.

Taking a second shot at love, Lowe is to court 25 ladies in the 17th season of "Bachelor" which will premiere in January 2013. The casting news actually had been leaked out by the show's host Chris Harrison earlier this week. He told SheKnows.com, "Well, a little known secret, he has been chosen. We are close to production. I don't know if I can tell you, but let's just say I think Sean would be a great guy. I really do. I think he'd be really good."

Casting rumors previously included former "Bachelorette" star Roberto Martinez and Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte. The latter reportedly is pitching his own reality show that "will focus on his training, his love life and his new fashion line."
