Colin Farrell's Mind Trip Goes Awry in First 'Total Recall' Clip

As Farrell wants to have a new memory implanted into his brain, a group of gun-wielding troops suddenly attack him and make him their target.

AceShowbiz - First clip for "Total Recall" remake has been unleashed. Coming out via Yahoo! Movies, the snippet titled "Happy Trails" sees Colin Farrell aiming to get rid of his boring life by having a new memory injected to his brain. During the process, however, he gets interrupted by a number of gun-wielding troops who suddenly make him their target.

Farrell plays a factory worker named Douglas. Though he has a beautiful wife, Douglas wants to get out of his frustrating life by joining a mind trip, where he gets real memories of life as a super spy. However, when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Douglas becomes a hunted man.

Finding himself on the run from the police - controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen, the leader of the free world - Douglas teams up with a rebel fighter to find the head of the underground resistance and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Douglas discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.

Directed by Len Wiseman, "Total Recall" is slated for an August 3 release in the United States. Also lining up in the casting department are Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, John Cho, Bill Nighy, Bryan Cranston and Ethan Hawke.

The sci-fi movie will hold a discussion session during a Sony Pictures panel at Comic-Con. Taking place in Hall H at 4:35-6:35 P.M. on Friday, July 13, the session will be attended by director Wiseman along with Farrell, Beckinsale, Biel and Cranston.
