After the death of one bad guy, "The Vampire Diaries" will end the season with another bloody episode. A preview for the upcoming outing sees Damon being beaten up by Alaric, who wants to find out where Klaus is. The ally-turns-enemy Alaric also meets Jeremy at a bar and says that they need to talk.
Stefan and Damon leave Mystic Falls together on a mission, but the former promises that he'll do anything in his power to make sure they all come back. The brothers soon split up when Elena needs one of them, probably after Elena and Matt's car veers off the road and falls from a bridge.
Also in "The Departed" that will air Thursday, May 10 at 8/7c on The CW, Jeremy makes a decision that will change everything in order to protect his sister. Caroline and Tyler are forced to make a life-changing decision, while Bonnie makes a secret deal that has heartbreaking consequences.
Meanwhile, in the harsh reality of the present situation, Elena longs for simpler times when her parents, Grayson and Miranda, and Aunt Jenna were still alive and her biggest concern was her relationship with Matt. Jason MacDonald, Erin Beute and Sara Canning guest star as Grayson, Miranda and Aunt Jenna respectively.
Talking about his scenes in the season finale, Ian Somerhalder shared, "I was getting my ass kicked. The last shot of the finale of the show, [I'm] just getting beaten down. I got my ass kicked a lot in that episode." He further teased, "It's pretty bloody."
"The Vampire Diaries" will return for a fourth season as The CW has given an early renewal to the show as well as "Supernatural" and "90210".
