Just days after Amanda was arrested on suspicion of DUI, Rick Bynes comes to his actress daughter's defense as he insists that she 'didn't have a single drink that night.'

AceShowbiz - Amanda Bynes' father is breaking his silence on his daughter's recent DUI arrest. In an interview with PEOPLE, Rick Bynes insisted that the "Easy A" actress was not intoxicated when she was pulled over after colliding "with the right rear quarter panel" of a police car in the wee hours of Friday, April 6 morning.
"She was not drunk. I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer," Rick stressed. "She didn't have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn't drink." Pointing out that his daughter was released with no bail, he added, "She is a good girl. She just chooses not to work, and because of that, people go after her."
Rick also pointed his finger at the police officer's fault. During the chat, he suggested that the cop was pulling out in front of Amanda as she was turning at the West Hollywood intersection. As for why the "Hairspray" actress was taken into custody, the older Bynes believed it was caused by her being "upset and very emotional".
TMZ, in the meantime, reported that Amanda returned to the hotel bar at The Standard Hotel on Sunset Blvd. just hours after she was released from jail. The staffers, however, refused to let the 26-year-old in, and she left without incident. The next night, she was spotted at the Rock and Reilly's Irish Pub. A source told Radar Online, "All her friends looked like they were drunk and she looked tipsy."
