The office worker inside the building claims Brand's people have reached out to assure that the estranged husband of Katy Perry would cover the replacement cost of the shattered glass.

AceShowbiz - Russell Brand is apparently taking responsibility for his recent outburst. Shortly after the "Arthur" actor made headlines for smashing a window of a New Orleans building by throwing a paparazzi's cell phone through it, TMZ came out with a new report suggesting that he is willing to compensate.

The building, which was earlier reported to be abandoned, turned out to be an office, and its worker, who was inside when Brand threw the phone, claimed that people connected to the 36-year-old actor reached out to him shortly after the incident. Brand's camp allegedly acknowledged that it was the actor who broke the glass, and said he would cover the costs for the replacement.

Brand himself has been named in a police report because of the incident. A paparazzi by the name of Timothy Jackson accused Katy Perry's estranged husband of snatching his iPhone and throwing it away out of anger on Monday, March 12 night. Radar Online detailed that the incident happened around 7 P.M. in the Warehouse District of New Orleans.

A spokesperson for the New Orleans Police Department, Sergeant Frank Robertson, confirmed that Jackson did file a report against Brand. "The ink is not even fresh on it, this case is not even 8 hours old yet," he told the site on Tuesday. "It is just so new and there are variable circumstance. Our office don't even have the report yet but it is an ongoing investigation."
