A representative for Nina has responded to recent claim that the 'Vampire Diaries' beauty has turned down her co-star and rumored boyfriend's marriage proposal.

Ian Somerhalder hasn't made any marriage proposal to Nina Dobrev despite report to the contrary. In Touch reported recently that the Damon Salvatore of "The Vampire Diaries" was met with rejection when he popped the question over the holidays, but the story was quickly debunked.
A representative for Nina came out with some clarification soon after the false story caught media attention. "There is no truth to this item at all," so insisted the rep. In fact, the rep for the actress who will be seen in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" claimed "there was no proposal" at all.
In Touch earlier suggested that there is trouble brewing between Ian and Nina because of her refusal to marry him. A so-called friend was quoted as saying, "She is freaking out, saying, 'I don't want to marry him!' She thinks she's too young, and with all the offers she's getting, she's poised to be a big star."
The inside source further claimed that after she turned the 33-year-old hunk down, the 23-year-old beauty "feels like the relationship is ruined." The insider explained, "They were having fun, and now there's a lot of tension."
The rumored couple themselves were seen sitting side by side at the 38th People's Choice Awards. When Nina was announced to be the winner of Favorite TV Drama Actress, the two restrained from kissing or hugging but did share smile with each other. Afterward, Ian took to Twitter and wrote, "Congratulations Nina!!! You won!!!! People DO like you;) You rock babe, truly."
