Accused of visiting the earthquake-ravaged country for a fashion show, the estranged wife of Kris Humphries hits back by blasting journalists for publishing 'a ridiculous story to sell copies'.

Kim Kardashian is expressing disappointment in the media after some false reports about her Haiti trip surfaced. Words spread recently that the trip was a sham since she went there for a fashion show and to pamper herself, but the "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" star was quick to defend herself through a posting on her blog.
The 31-year-old began by explaining that she flew to the earthquake-stricken country earlier this month to learn more about Maria Bello's charity, We Advance. She continued, "While my experience was completely life-changing... a very emotional and surprisingly positive journey that I will never forget, some media outlets have tried to tarnish the motive behind my visit and have written completely ridiculous and untrue things."
"The National Enquirer wrote that I went to a fashion show in Haiti and then spent a fortune pampering myself! The truth is that I was at the Haitian Artisan Fair," she went on sharing her side of the story, "where the amazing men and women who make their jewelry and crafts sell them to visitors to make a living, and I bought some of their beautiful jewelry after the fashion show!! Reading this made me so disappointed in the media."
Calling the reports "malicious and untrue", the estranged wife of Kris Humphries said, "The journalists obviously didn't bother to do their research and instead published a ridiculous story to sell copies." She added, "When a magazine makes the decision to twist the truth and write lies like that, it belittles the entire experience we had in Haiti, and I won't let them do that."
The National Enquirer earlier reported that Kim "stayed in a $1,000-a-night hotel suite, traveled in a royalty-worthy convoy with her own photographers and bodyguards, and strutted down the runway in a fashion show" during her 48-hour stay in Haiti. It further claimed that the TV personality "mostly avoided the squalid refugee camps."
The tabloid additionally cited a source as saying, "The whole trip was a sham. It's like Kim turned a blind eye to Haiti's real issues - poverty and hunger. All she did was rub shoulders with the nation's elite. She showed no interest in the plight of our people. It was a scandalous waste of time and money."
