Rumor has it, Djimon Hounsou has been cast in "Paradise Lost". The actor reportedly will portray Abdiel, the angel of death, in the big screen adaptation of John Milton's 17th century classic poem that chronicles the epic war between archangels Michael and Lucifer.

The new movie will be directed by Alex Proyas. Lucifer is going to be played by "The Hangover" actor Bradley Cooper, and Michael will be tackled by "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" star Benjamin Walker.

Production for the movie will kick off January next year in Australia for a possible release in fourth quarter of 2013. The good and evil battle in this film reportedly will resemble "300" meet "Lord of the Rings", but with winged warriors.

Djimon Hounsou is an award-winning actor who is best known for his roles in 2006's "Blood Diamond" and 2002's "In America". Earlier this year, he had his straight-to-DVD movie "Elephant White" being released. He has also played in a number of movies including "The Tempest" and "Never Back Down".
