The winner of 'The Voice' season 1 expresses his desire to work with judges and vocal coaches Cee-Lo Green and Adam Levine.

AceShowbiz - Shortly after he was crowned the winner of "The Voice" season 1, Javier Colon dished on his plan for his major-label debut album. The aspiring singer, who was signed to Universal Republic after winning the singing competition, will start the recording process of the effort soon before he and the other former finalists go on a tour starting July 27.

"One thing that was consistent throughout the show, I tried to pick songs that drew people in, songs that meant something to people," Javier told Billboard. "I'm a songwriter and I feel part of our job is be able to move them emotionally. Some of the best songs are songs that tell stories and I think my album will have those elements."

"Some of it will be just some guitar and my voice and there will be some fun stuff also. It will come from a singer-songwriter perspective with a soulful background," the ex-member of Derek Trucks Band elaborated further. In working on his new materials, he wishes to get help from two judges of "The Voice"; Cee-Lo Green and Adam Levine.

Javier was under the guidance of Adam on the show and credited him for his winning. "He's an awesome coach and he's an awesome friend, and he is really invested in this whole process. He got emotional at the end (Wednesday), which really meant a lot to me. It showed he cared about me and my situation," he gushed.

In return, Levine was one of the firsts who sounded off his support. "There is no doubt I'll be seeing Javier for a long time to come," the Maroon 5 frontman said. "I'd love to sing with him." He is also proud of his protege for being courageous in voicing his desire to "make sure we have him the freedom to do his own thing and not control it too much."

Beside getting full support from Adam, Javier was lucky to get Justin Bieber back him as well. Bieber tweeted a congratulation message on the night Javier won "The Voice", writing "JAVIER!! congrats my dude. Good things happen to good people. Adam Levine...see u on the court soon. you won today but on the court you are going down! Lol."

"I don't know Justin and I think he was just recently turned on to what I do," the 34-year-old singer/songwiter told The Hollywood Reporter about how he was connected to the teen pop star. "Adam knows Justin and his manager. I guess they played some basketball at one point." He also pointed out that he befriends Ernie Halter whom Bieber is a big fan of. "Ernie has a great following on Twitter," he explained. "And he went out and campaigned for votes for me and told his followers to vote for me, as well as sent a message to Justin."

Talking about a possible duet with the "Baby" hitmaker, Javier was keen on the idea. He said, "That would be awesome. Again, I don't know Justin personally. It's just he hooked me up with a really nice tweet. I'm going to send him another thank you tweet for doing that for me and also see if we can get together in the future."
