The first trailer for "Beautiful Boy" has been made available for viewing pleasure, giving a preview to the indie movie which sees a tragedy from the perspective of a murder's parents. Maria Bello and Michael Sheen are portraying the couple whose lives are rocked after receiving the news that their son went on a shooting spree on his college campus before taking his own life.
Bill and Kate hopelessly try to find some hint of an explanation of their son's action. Their already strained marriage is tested as they struggle to find refuge from both the media onslaught and their mutual grief. This life-altering event forces Bill and Kate to face their feelings of guilt, rage, blame, self-discovery, and ultimately hope, so that they can finally see each other and their chance for happiness again with clear eyes.
Directed and written by Shawn Ku, "Beautiful Boy" is expected to be released sometime this spring. The drama was previously screened at 2010 Toronto Film Festival.
