People thought Aniston made a stupid move by ditching the popular variety show in favor of a starting sitcom.

Turns out, Jennifer Aniston was almost a regular cast of "Saturday Night Live". Years ago, the actress met executive producer Lorne Michaels but she decided to turn down the offer to do another project, which is none other than "Friends".
Aniston and her "Just Go With It" co-star Adam Sandler promoted their movie on "The Oprah Winfrey Show", revealing at the same time that they came close to working together. "I remember being on the ninth floor where Lorne Michaels' office was, and seeing Jen come in," said Sandler who was 23 when he joined the show.. "I was like, 'Oh, my God. There's Aniston. Is she about to be on our show?' "
Aniston declined "SNL" because she thought it was a boys' club. "They were like, 'You're so stupid'," the actress recalled. Sandler chimed in, "[I remember thinking], 'She said no?' She's gonna do that 'Friends'? What the hell is 'Friends'? That was the truth."
Oprah Winfrey noted, "Worked out for ya" and Aniston replied, "Did all right." Sandler then joked, "People liked that one, yeah."
