The much-anticipated teaser trailer for "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" has just made its way out via Apple. It features Neil Armstrong, whose face is mostly hidden under a helmet, landing on the moon just to find out that humans are not alone in this universe.

The video does not feature any of the movie's lead actors for it highlights the U.S.' historic 1969 mission to the moon with some real old footage from the past used. The scenes shot for the film, meanwhile, follows Armstrong and another astronaut who discover an enormous craft that has crashed. While they believe there is no sign of life inside the ship, the eye of an Autobot begins to light up at the end of the teaser.

Along with the first teaser trailer, DreamWorks also releases a teaser poster for the movie which once again does not show any character and only features the movie's title and release date. Official synopsis for the film is not yet unveiled either.

However, a new interview by Collider with director Michael Bay reveals that Buzz Aldrin actually appears in the film, modern day. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's Carly works at the English embassy in Washington D.C. "as kind of an assistant". She meets Shia LaBeouf's Sam Witwicky sometime after he has been dumped by Megan Fox's Mikaela Banes, and now they live together with Carly paying the rent while Sam is looking for his first job.

"Transformers: Dark of the Moon" is made in 3-D and will hit theaters across the nation on July 1, 2011.
