On Sunday, October 10 afternoon, the cast and executive producers of "The Vampire Diaries" showed up at New York Comic Con to deliver the latest about the vampire show. Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson were accompanied behind the table by stars Zach Roerig, Steven R. McQueen, Sara Canning and Katerina Graham.

The big question answered was how long Katherine would stay in the picture. To this Williamson said, "until she's not". In fact Plec revealed that the worst of Katherine would happen in this week's episode titled "Plan B" which, according to the showrunner, would be a game changer. Additionally, there will be a big face-off between Katherine and Jeremy now that he comes to the vampire brothers' aid.

Regarding Bonnie, Plec said she would be in a love triangle with a familiar face and someone completely new, plus she will have some disagreements with Elena. Graham added that her character is "confused" but "strong" and is willing enough to help Damon. Earlier, Williamson said that witches and vampires don't exactly go along for the latter have used the former for centuries.

On who fans can expect to make a return to Mystic Falls, the producers mentioned David Anders' John Gilbert aka Elena's birth father and Arielle Kebbel's Lexi aka Stefan's dead vampire friend.

Outside the panel, Plec and Williamson spared time to talk to Fancast about the coming episode that airs November 11. "The episode that we start shooting on Tuesday is set around 1490," Plec revealed. "We've talked about wanting to show Katherine's origin story, and it is cool."

In addition to the Q and A session at the NYCC panel, the team brought a footage as a teaser for the remaining episodes in season 2. The bootleg version has leaked out and is embedded below.
