AceShowbiz - The all-star cast line-up of "X-Men: First Class" has reportedly added another big name. According to Deadline Hollywood, "Mad Men" beauty January Jones has been recruited to join the pack of the mutants to portray Emma Frost, an urbane, mutant telepath with a well-noted dry wit. Alice Eve and Rosamund Pike were previously rumored circling the role.
Meanwhile, director Matthew Vaughn has allegedly set Zoe Kravitz to play Angel. *This is quite confusing since Angel is supposed to be a male character and was portrayed by Ben Foster in "X-Men: The Last Stand". Some speculate this could be one of casting misdirects and the 21-year-old "Twelve" star may ultimately be seen playing another character.
Additionally, the site states child actors Morgan Lily ["2012 (2009)"] and Bill Milner ["Is Anybody There?"] have been cast as young Mystique and Magneto respectively. The older version of these characters will be portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender in the same movie.
"X-Men: First Class" will chart the epic beginning of the "X-Men" saga and follow Charles Xavier aka Professor X and Erik Lensherr aka Magneto when they were still close friends who worked together with other Mutants to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. James McAvoy will be Professor X.
Principal photography for the prequel to previous "X-Men" films is slated to start in late August for June 3, 2011 U.S. release. Other stars who land roles in the movie include Jason Flemyng, Edi Gathegi and Nicholas Hoult.
*UPDATE: 20th Century Fox has clarified through their Twitter page that the character played by Zoe Kravitz is named Angel Salvadore and different than Angel in "X-Men: The Last Stand". Angel Salvadore has fly-like wings and can lay eggs.
