After learning that people don't like him the way he is, Alex Pettyfer turns to Vanessa Hudgens as his only chance to break the curse which makes him a 'beast'.

AceShowbiz - The first full-length trailer of "Beastly" has made its way out on Monday, April 19. Introduced by lead actress Vanessa Hudgens who plays Lindy, the video is opened with scenes in which Alex Pettyfer's Kyle Kingson admires himself before he is cursed by a witch into a grotesque monster because of his cruel manner. Within only a year, he has to find someone who will love him to break the curse.

Repulsed by his appearance, Kyle's father banishes him to Brooklyn with a sympathetic housekeeper and blind tutor. He then meets Lindy and falls in love with her. The trailer which is premiered by MTV Hollywood Crush then captures Kyle's efforts to win Lindy's heart before he runs out of time.

Speaking about the film which picks up the idea of modern version of "Beauty and the Beast", Hudgens said, "It takes the skeleton of 'Beauty and the Beast,' and we fill in the muscles of our own." She then added, "We took bits and pieces of the original, like the transformation; you have to find someone who loves you to break the spell. But we twisted it a little bit and made it a bit darker and threw in a few oddities that weren't in the original."

Based on Alex Flinn's young-adult novel of the same title, "Beastly" is directed and written by Daniel Barnz. The cast ensemble is additionally supported by Mary-Kate Olsen as a witch named Kendra Hilferty, Neil Patrick Harris as the blind tutor, Lisa Gay Hamilton as the housekeeper and many others. This teen drama is slated to arrive in U.S. theaters on July 30.
