Joel Madden has been announced as the official DJ at the upcoming 82nd Annual Academy Awards. "Guess who is Dj'in the Oscars. Me. Yes i will put on a bow tie of some sort," the Good Charlotte's frontman tweeted.

"Thank you @adammshankman for making me a part of the show. I've never been to the Academy awards before. Gawrsh!" he continued by thanking the show's producer and added, "im going to keep it classy! wikki wikki. -- @adammshankman btw after the show you are definitely going out and lettin' loose."

On why Joel was picked up to entertain audience during the commercial breaks, Adam told People, "We're friends and I asked him. I wanted there to be a party atmosphere and I wanted to make sure everyone in the room was having a great time. He's one of the best, and knows most everyone there."

This year, Oscars will be held on March 7 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles and is set to be aired live by ABC Television Network. Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin are tapped to host the show, while Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Miley Cyrus and Zac Efron are recruited as presenters.
