Adam Lambert Respects ABC's Decision to Cancel Him
TV

Just within hours after ABC decided to retract Adam from their 'Good Morning America' list, CBS picked up the opportunity to snatch the singer for a live performance on their morning show.

What ABC lost is CBS' gain. Adam Lambert has confirmed that he will still be performing live on Wednesday, November 25, only it will be on The Eye's "The Early Show" instead of "Good Morning America".

Adam invited criticisms when he made an impromptu performance at American Music Awards on Sunday that included a middle finger sign to the audience, an oral sex simulation and a kiss with his male keyboardist. ABC released a statement saying, "Given his controversial live performance on the AMAs we were concerned about airing a similar concert so early in the morning."

Adam actually has been booked to tape a performance for "Early Show". However, since ABC made a pass on him, CBS switched it to a live performance. According to the press release, Adam will not perform "For Your Entertainment" which he sang at AMAs but two other songs from his new album.

CBS also said that Adam will sit in for an interview where he would "discuss his recent controversial 'American Music Awards' performance." Executive producer of the show Zev Shalev revealed, "We spoke to them about who our audience is and our expectations. He's a very smart, sophisticated performer."

Adam had visited Ryan Seacrest's radio show to express his feeling toward ABC's cancellation. "Obviously, I respect their decision - they gotta do what they gotta do. It's too bad - I think there were a lot of fans who were excited to come see me," he said, adding "They probably had a lot of pressure coming at them from certain people who weren't happy about it."

Beside "Early Show", Adam will be pretty much on every talk shows in the next few weeks. He had pre-taped a performance of "Whataya Want From Me" for a "Late Show with David Letterman" episode airing on Wednesday night. There's also "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" which will have him on Tuesday, December 1.
