"30 Days of Night: Dark Days" will have a new Stella Olesonthe with Kiele Sanchez taking over the role from Melissa George, and first look at Sanchez in character has been unraveled. Bloody-Disgusting has brought forth the first image from the set of the "30 Days of Night" sequel, showing Sanchez with a gash on her forehead and a machete in her right hand.

The sequel picks up a year after the Alaskan town of Barrow's population was decimated by vampires during its annual month long sunset. Riddled with grief over the death of her husband, bound by nightmares and void of all emotions beyond hate and sorrow, Stella has spent the past months traveling the world, trying to convince others that vampires exist but met with skepticism and laughter.

Just as she is ready to throw in the towel, a group of lost souls offers an incredible opportunity: the chance to exact revenge upon Lilith, the vampire queen responsible for the assault on her sleepy Alaskan town. With nothing remaining to live for, and nothing left to fear, she joins the group and ventures into the uncharted underbelly of Los Angeles to stop the evil from striking again.

"30 Days of Night: Dark Days" is produced by Stage 6 and Ghost House. Ben Ketai will make his directorial debut with this feature film which is based on a screenplay written by Steve Niles and Ketai. Diora Baird, Rhys Coiro, Mia Kirshner and Harold Perrineau star. No release date has been set in stone just yet, but the movie is expected to come out sometime in 2010.
