Shakira Eager to Become a Mother, but Won't Wed Any Time Soon

Though she can't resist the temptation to get pregnant and have her own child, Shakira refuses to get married anytime soon.

AceShowbiz - Feeling the pressure to start a family now that she is 32 years old, Shakira says in an interview with the new issue of Rolling Stone, "My body feels like it is asking to reproduce, to have a huge belly and carry babies." She goes on stating, "My boyfriend is six feet tall, and sometimes I feel like I'm his keychain, a small thing."

Despite her maternal instinct, Shakira has affirmed that she is in no rush to walk down the aisle with her longtime fiance Antonio de la Rua. "We live in a society that represses women's subconscious dreams," the singer begins explaining on why she won't wed any time soon. "You know, women have to make enormous efforts through life, much larger than men."

"We deal with so many pressure: the pressure of aesthetics, and how society wants us to deliver our performances as mothers, daughters and wives. It's funny how the papers want to see you married, and then they want to see you divorced. Well, I won't do any of it."

In addition to femininity, motherhood and the pressures of being a woman, Shakira also opens up to Vanessa Grigoriadis of Rolling Stone about her album "She Wolf", which is due for November 23 U.S. release. The full interview is featured on the magazine's new issue, which already goes on sale.

Shakira began dating Antonio de la Rua, the son of Argentina then-president Fernando de la Rua, in 2000. He proposed to her in March the following year.
