A representative confirms Lakshmi is pregnant with her first child, but won't reveal the baby's father's identity.

AceShowbiz - Report that Padma Lakshmi is pregnant with her first child has been confirmed by her representative. Speaking exclusively to Us Weekly, the representative says, "Model, author, and Emmy-nominated Padma Lakshmi confirms that she is carrying her first child after years of struggling with endometriosis, a cause for which she has co-founded the Endometriosis Foundation of America."
Endometriosis, as described by the site, is a medical condition in which the uterus' lining grows in other areas of the body, causing pain, irregular bleeding and possible infertility. Providing further detail about Lakshmi's latest condition, the representative states, "As a result of her condition, this pregnancy has been referred to by her physician as nothing short of a medical miracle, and due to its delicate nature, we ask/implore the press to respect Ms. Lakshmi's privacy at this time."
The father of Lakshmi's baby is not identified though. When asked by Us Weekly to confirm online reports suggesting Manu Nathan is the father, the representative says no, insisting he is Lakshmi's cousin. Lakshmi's due date is also not known.
Just Jared was the first media which brought forth news of Padma Lakshmi's pregnancy earlier this week. The site was informed by several unnamed sources that the "Top Chef" presenter is carrying the baby of her current boyfriend Manu Nathan, who works in Business & Legal Affairs at IMG talent agency. Lakshmi herself was previously married to novelist Salman Rushdie. The pair wed from April 2004 to July 2007.
