Former love partners, Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey, have added fuel to the existing talks of them giving their romance another go after calling it quits in June. Life and Style reports, they were seen having heart-to-heart conversation while attending a friend's birthday party at Billy Marks West bar in N.Y.C. on Tuesday, September 1.

"They were both there to celebrate a friend's birthday," Vanessa's friend tells the publication. "They stood by the bar the entire time, talking pretty much only to each other." And though Nick and Vanessa were not seen overly touchy-feely, "you could tell they were together," adds the friend. "It was more in how serious they looked at each other that told you that they were more than just friends."

When making their way out of the venue, both stars reportedly were seen holding hands as they were waiting for a cab. Still, there has been no official statement outed by Nick and Vanessa in regard of the nature of their relationship.

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo had been dating since 2006 when she confirmed through her representative in late June this year that she is no longer together with Nick. Her representative claimed their split was amicable and both parties have committed to remain friends. Late last week, there was report that Nick and Vanessa were spotted kissing and making out during a night outing at Dime bar in Los Angeles.
