Excerpt of Chris Brown's Full Inteview on 'Larry King Live'
TV

His mother Joyce Hawkins and lawyer Mark Geragos give their votes of confidence that the singer will not do such thing anymore in the future.

AceShowbiz - Packed under one hour, Chris Brown's first TV interview since his altercation with Rihanna has been aired on "Larry King Live" Wednesday, September 2. The beginning of the chat went rather light with Larry King throwing questions about facts such as the charges that the judge lay on him. One thing that Brown disagreed with was how he is assigned to pick up trash while he thought he's capable of doing something more than that.

Knowing the fact that Brown is not allowed to communicate with Rihanna in a period of time, King asked whether Brown loves her and is in love with her. The singer answered with definite tone, "yes". King brought up the subject of Rihanna's bloody and bruised picture that was published on TMZ. "I honestly did not know what to think, I'm just really disappointed at myself," Brown said about his feeling when looking at the photo.

The attention was also brought to his mother Joyce Hawkins, who admitted that she was "shocked", "devastated" and "bothered" especially because she cares about Rihanna. Hawkins who is a victim of spousal abuse, broke into tears when King wanted to ask her about the history of violence in the family. Brown then answered for his mother, describing how his stepfather made him "scared to go to bed".

Chris refused to say what happened on the night of the incident, reasoning that he respects Rihanna and that it's a private matter. He also rejected responding to the question "Why were you violent?". King moved on to the rumor that there was another domestic violence charged on him in the past, something which he quickly denied. One thing that Brown approved was the fact that he and Rihanna talked briefly on the phone after the incident, trying to "work it out".

Talking about the relationship itself, Brown said that theirs was a pretty steady one. Hawkins added that Rihanna is very close to her that she calls Hawkins "mama". As an entertainer, Brown admitted to have screwed up this part of life. Owing it to his fans, Brown posted an apology video back in July which was purely intended for those who look up to him and those who listen to his music.

Closing the lengthy interview, Brown said "I've apologized, I said I'm sorry. I thank people who supported me from day 1, my real friends and you know who you are. I just love all my supporters and I love everything."
