The singer said 'no' when asked whether he remembered the incident involving Rihanna while his mother defended his good nature.

AceShowbiz - His infamous February incident has landed Chris Brown a hot seat on "Larry King Live". Accompanied by his mother Joyce Hawkins and attorney Mark Geragos, the R 'n' B singer answered some sensitive questions about his altercation with ex-girlfriend Rihanna that left her with bruises and bloody lips.

The exclusive interview will be aired in full on Wednesday, September 2 on CNN but a snippet from the episode has been released. Larry King asked him how he reacted to what the police and reporters said about what he did. "I just look at it like, wow, I'm in shock, because, first of all, that's not who I am as a person, and that's not who I promise I want to be," Brown said. "So when I look at the police reports or hear about the police reports, I just don't know what to think."

Drilled further, Brown answered "no" when he was questioned whether he remembered doing it. His mother then took the turn, explaining how Brown came to her right after the incident. She said, "I was totally upset about the situation. I know that Chris has never, ever been a violent person. I mean throughout the entire time, through the high school, I've never been called. Never". Hawkins herself has been the victim of abusive relationship at the hand of Brown's stepfather.

What was not featured in the sneak peek is the statement from Brown saying that he intends to keep a good relationship with Rihanna. "We'll always be friends," he admitted. On how he will revive his tarnished reputation, Brown said "I just need to prove to people I can be a role model. That's not who I am as a person, and that's not who I promise I want to be."

In a sentencing dated August 25, Chris Brown was ordered to make a 100 yards distance from Rihanna and not to make a contact with her in the next 5 years.
