Fathering two adopted children with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness, Hugh Jackman reportedly is planning for another adoption. A source tells National Enquirer magazine, the celebrity couple is "adopting another child now, and plan to welcome a fourth into their family down the road. It has become their mission."
"Hugh is a big believer in adoption - not just personally, but from a world view of extending help to parentless children," the source says further. It is not known though if the actor and his actress wife are adopting a girl or a boy. Further details on that matter also remain sketchy and there hasn't been a single comment made by the pair.
Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness, who have been married since 1996, decided to adopt their current children; son Oscar Maximillian and daughter Ava Eliot, after she experienced two miscarriages. The actor himself recently was quoted as telling the press he is open to the option of adopting children from mixed races just like Oscar and Ava.
"Mixed-race babies have such a hard time being adopted that Deb and I checked off that box specifically when we were filling out our forms," he said when recalling the day he and Deborra-Lee adopted both kids. "Our lawyer brought the form back to us and said, 'This is not the time to be politically correct. Are you sure this is what you want?' We were definite about it. Adoption is about taking a baby into your home and your heart. It's the best thing we've ever done."
