'Twilight' star Kristin Stewart recently reveals that she is working on picking up old guitar riffs and has spent time with punk rocker Joan Jett for her role in 'The Runaways'.

Kristen Stewart has going on about her excitement and preparation for her starring role in "The Runaways". Talking to MTV at Sundance, the 18-year-old actress enthusiastically bursts out, "I'm, like, vibrating. I'm just so excited about that movie," adding, "I'm really, exceedingly, more excited than normal."
Set to portray rock musician Joan Jett in the rock 'n' roll biopic of Jett's 1970s all-girl band, the Bella Swan of "Twilight" further reveals that she's been working hard on picking up old guitar riffs for the role. She, in addition, gushes that she has got the chance to hang out with the "I Love Rock N' Roll" hit maker, saying "Yeah, I spent New Year's with her. I spent, like hours, just talking to her. It's been great."
"The Runaways" will revolve around a '70s girl band of the same name formed by Joan Jett and Cherie Currie. The movie will follow the teenage band as they experience meteoric rise, and chronicles their dissolution and disillusionment. With Jett serving as the film's executive producer and Floria Sigismondi being the director, it is expected to begin filming near the end of 2009.
Consisting of guitarists Jett and Lita Ford, drummer Sandy West, singer-keyboardist Cherie Currie and bassist Jackie Fox, the band, The Runaways, itself was the first successful all-girl hard rock band. After being brought together in mid-1970 impresario Kim Fowley, the girls became serious and influential musicians with songs like "Cherry Bomb", but fell apart over management and money issues after four years together.
