The six-minute preview of 'Angels and Demons' has been unveiled at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the written description of the footage has been posted.

AceShowbiz - Sony Pictures Entertainment have laid bare a six-minute preview footage of their upcoming "Angels & Demons" at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, and IGN have jotted down the detailed description of the footage shown. The clip starts off with a series of fast, intercut scenes through which Ewan McGregor's Carlo Ventresca can be seen addressing an audience of clergymen in Vatican City, stating that Vatican is being attacked by an old enemy.

The shot then moves to the scene where the body of a dead cardinal is found by Ventresca and other priests, forcing Ventresca to instruct for the search for Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon. The next scene finds Landon swimming laps in a pool while a representative from the Vatican approaches him. When the rep's remark that The Vatican has urgent business with Langdon is met with his disbelieve, he then shows Langdon an ambigram of the word "Illuminati" engraved on the body of the dead cardinal.

The clip continues with Landon and the rep going to the Vatican City, and Langdon explains what Illuminati means. It then cuts to a shot of Stellan Skarsgard's Richter. Unhappy with Langdon's presence, the lead investigator welcomes the symbologist with sarcasm, but still explains that four cardinals have been kidnapped and their lives are at stakes. When Landon asks for access to the Vatican archives, his request is quickly declined by Richter because the access can only be granted through a written decree from the Holy Father.

Following that, a scene in which Ventresca and Langdon are having a private discussion about God is displayed. It then continues with the two seen at a very hi-tech looking library where Langdon finds the "Veritas" document from Galileo and begins reading about the "path of light." After Ventresca rips the page from the ancient document, the scene moves to a shot of a church where Langdon pulls the cover of a statue and quickly notices that it is a clue. Following it, he soon discovers the body of one of the kidnapped cardinals with an ambigram of "earth".

What follows is a series of fast cuts of action sequences, including a scene where a priest-dressed man fires a gun at an unseen victim, a shot of Ventresca being trapped in a corner with a fiery brand held close to his face and a footage of Langdon jumping into a pool of water to escape an explosion. The complete description of the footage can be read at IGN.

A second Dan Brown's novel to be brought to the big screen, "Angels & Demons" follows Professor of Religious Symbology at Harvard University Robert Langdon in solving clues about an ancient underground brotherhood, the Illuminati, to save the Vatican from a powerful time bomb. Adapted by Akiva Goldsman, it stars Tom Hanks, Ayelet Zurer, Ewan McGregor and Thure Lindhardt. This sequel to "The Da Vinci Code" is set to be released in the U.S. on May 15, 2009.
