According to The Associated Press, TLC network and the Miss America Organization have made a statement on December 1 informing that Mario is in a negotiation to serve as master of ceremonies for the pageant's upcoming show.

Mario, who has once hosted the 2007 Miss America, may land on the same role for the 2008 beauty pageant ceremony. "Mario and the Miss America Organization's past relationship has proven beneficial and we look forward to having him in Vegas again this year," said TLC's programming vice president, Brent Zacky.

Miss America 2008 will be aired live at 8/7c on January 24 from Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. On December 1, Miss America Organization has also released names of the judges, which include designer Paige Adams-Geller, actress Laura Bell Bundy, and the 1999 Miss America Nicole Johnson.
