AceShowbiz - Naomi Campbell is a model patient. The British supermodel was hospitalized in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Monday night, February 25 for the removal of a small cyst. She was admitted to Sirio Libanes Hospital and reportedly flew all the way from London to Sao Paulo to have the surgery.

Naomi, who's a frequent visitor to Brazil, celebrated Carnival earlier this month in the northeastern city of Salvador. A representative for the catwalk queen confirmed her hospitalization, saying "Naomi Campbell was admitted to the hospital ... to have a small cyst removed. Following the successful procedure, she is now resting and is looking forward to getting back to work. She would like to thank the doctors who have kindly looked after her."

Sirio Libanes hospital, elsewhere, issued a statement of its own Tuesday, February 26 confirming that Naomi was at the facility. "The patient and her advisers have determined that the hospital's medical staff will not issue any formal or informal information on her medical condition," the hospital's statement read.

While nature of the cyst was not disclosed, the hospital did reveal that Naomi was being treated by the likes of David Uip, one of the nation's top specialists in infectious diseases, and Jose Aristodemo Pinotti, a gynecologist.

Jose reportedly told The Associated Press by telephone that Naomi underwent abdominal surgery.

"I cannot reveal what Naomi had, nor how serious her condition was, but I can say I operated on her yesterday, that everything went smoothly and that she is completely cured and walking in her room," Jose was quoted as saying, adding that the procedure was a laparoscopy, in which doctors use a thin, lighted scope to view internal organs.
